Undergraduate Research Assistant

Major: Biomedical Engineering (Minor: Business)

Supervisor: Daniel Dodd

About Me:

I began my research journey to strengthen my understanding of nanomedicine while working to develop the skills needed to research in a laboratory. I currently contribute to a project that utilizes engineered immune cells to rebuild cerebral vasculature following stroke. Through my work on this project, I have gained valuable experience working with lab technology, nanoparticles, and protein detection procedures. I have learned techniques such as EV isolation, cell culture, western blot, ELISA, plasmid isolation, and sectioning, among others. I plan to continue my research and further my understanding of nanomedicine through graduate school with a focus on the application of nanomedicine to the treatment of kidney diseases such as acute kidney failure.
